About Berta

Hi, I’m Berta! I’m the team mascot—a fluffy bundle of love, joy, and lots of personality. I’ve been told I’m both charismatic and professional, qualities I’ve perfected over the years. My favorite role is being the loyal sidekick to Kim’s son, Christian, who is an amazing young man with a wheelchair. ♿

My job isn’t just about fetching and retrieving things for Christian—though I’m pretty great at that. It’s really about helping him feel as independent as possible. I worked hard to become a service dog 🐕‍🦺 at Canine Companions in Santa Rosa, CA, and every day I use what I’ve learned to make Christian’s life a little brighter.

I call Chico, CA, my home, where I live with a family that I adore. When I’m not busy helping out, I’m known for being a bit of a foodie—I’ll eat anything I can get my paws 🐾 on. Every other week, I go to the groomer for a fluff and come back smelling like apple-cinnamon oatmeal. Life’s pretty great!
